Account Structure

Once we have collected a large list of relevant keyphrases for an account it is important that they are grouped appropriately. These groups (Adgroups) are made more and more granular until each Adgroup is highly specific.

Why do we make it more Granular?

It has the user's best interest at heart and as such Google rewards this good practice with a high Quality Score and as such they reward you with a lower minimum CPC that in turn brings your costs down.

How would Searchsmith improve your account structure?

  • Check that the current Account Structure is fit-for-purpose
  • Set-up campaigns correctly for geo-targeting, if necessary
  • Add new Adgroups for new products or seasonality without interfering with your current Adgroups
  • Check that Adgroups contain a single theme (e.g. keyword themes aren't mixed)
